Zion Eberhart, 2024-25

Wow, where do I begin! As an aspiring Pediatric Dermatologist, I’ve come to realize just how vulnerable children can be and how much they need advocates who will treat their skin conditions with compassion, care, and attention. That understanding is what drew me to Dr. Bree and Made A Masterpiece, whose mission aligned so deeply with my own.
With Dr. Bree’s support, we applied for and were awarded the Society for Pediatric Dermatology Mentorship Grant. Inspired by her unwavering faith in me as a mentee, I decided to relocate from Georgia to Texas to fully invest in my learning and engagement as the Masterpiece Fellow. That choice led to some of the most meaningful experiences of my journey so far, from attending national conferences, participating in pediatric dermatology clinics, and contributing to impactful Made A Masterpiece programs like Camp Dermadillo and the (+) Perspective Series. Each opportunity has been incredibly special, and I’m truly grateful for every moment.
Serving as the Fellow, I’ve learned what it means to advocate for children with skin conditions not just in clinical spaces, but through policy, education, and community support. I’ve had the privilege of connecting one-on-one with some of the most inspiring kids and down-to-earth families, whose stories have left a lasting impact on me. Further fueling my passion to continue this journey, because so much work is still to be done.
It’s been such a privilege to serve in this capacity, and I’m genuinely proud of how much I’ve grown. This journey has pushed me outside of my comfort zone, strengthened my confidence, and deepened my commitment to patient-centered care. It’s affirmed my capabilities and reminded me that I truly belong in this space. More than anything, this fellowship has helped shape my vision of the kind of physician I hope to become: one who leads with heart, listens closely, and always shows up!
