Rachel's Story Living with Acne

Rachel's Story Living with Acne

A Cheerleader's Spirit
- by Rachel Deters

Under the stadium's glaring lights,
She cheers with all her might each night.
Pom-poms sparkle, routines refined,
But acne lingers, so unkind.

Her skin, so rough, red and sore,
A fight she endures but can't ignore.
Between the jumps and the flips so high,
She wonders why her skin must cry.

Sweat beads down with every cheer,
Mixing with makeup, her greatest fear.
The floors echo with tumbles and yells,
Yet in her mirror, insecurity swells.

Teammates beam with glowing grace,
While blemishes mark her radiant face.
But beneath the surface, she's fierce and strong,
A cheerleader's heart, kind and true.

Each shout and stunt, a story to tell,
Of triumph beyond the acne's spell.
She stands proud, though the battle is steep,
Dreams of clear skies she vows to keep.

For beauty shines where confidence stays,
In leaps, in chants, in dazzling displays.
Her acne may try to dim her glow,
But her spirit’s light will always show.
